COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Common symptoms include a high temperature, a new continuous cough, and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, along with shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, sore throat and, sometimes, digestive symptoms. It spreads easily between people, particularly in close contact indoors.
Most people recover within a few weeks with rest and fluids, but for some the illness is more serious and can require hospital treatment. People aged 60 and over, those who are pregnant, and people with a weakened immune system face a higher risk of serious illness, which is why the NHS continues to offer seasonal booster doses to those most at risk.

We're only able to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to patients aged 18 and over. If your child (aged 6 months–17) is eligible, please contact your GP or use the NHS website to find another provider.

Our COVID-19 vaccination service starts on 1 October 2026. You can book your appointment in advance through the NHS website or app, or simply walk in during our opening hours — though please note that priority is given to patients with a booked appointment, so booking ahead means less waiting around.
